Project Description:
The Project includes providing the design and construction for a New Office Compound for the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) using the Design-Build delivery method, consisting of 3 buildings on a 45,000 square meters site (Total Building Area: 21,256 GSM). The new buildings include the 5 story New Office Building (NOB), a 3 story Maintenance Building (MNT), which consisted of utility, maintenance, repair and storage areas, and the Main Compound Access Control Building (MCAC).
The complex maximizes its open space both on the site and within the buildings giving visitors and employees a feeling of comfort within a secure compound. To maximize solar control, the office building is oriented on an east/west axis with sunshades protecting the windows on the south side of the building. The exterior of the NOB is clad in a combination of stone and zinc panels. A grand staircase connects a two-level gallery in the central core. Materials featured throughout the interior include marble flooring, wood paneling, and glass handrails. The NOB incorporates the latest in technical, physical and environmental security including building automation, life safety and emergency power generation per the requirements of the Department of State (DoS).
Project Value: U.S.$161.7 Million
Period of Performance: 09/2012 – 02/2019
