Project Description:
The Valletta, Malta project was valued at $87.4M. The client was the U.S. Department of State.
The project included the design and construction of 8 buildings on a 4.05 hectare site including: a 3 story New Embassy Office Building (NOB) and perimeter wall; 3 Compound Access Control Buildings (CACs); Marine Security Guard Quarters (MSGQ); Utility Building; Warehouse; and Recreational Facility (total building area 9,639 gsm).
The site plan was organized around Bronze Age and Roman archeological remains discovered during excavation, and included landscaping, roadways and surface parking. In an effort to conserve water, the design incorporated underground cisterns to collect more than 90% of rainwater runoff.
